About the SHINE Virtual iHUB
The SHINE Virtual iHUB is the online home of SHINE, an Erasmus+ cooperation partnership in higher education. It brings concurrent engineering — the practice of designing a product with every discipline working at once rather than in sequence — into European engineering classrooms, and gives students, academic staff and industry partners one shared place to do it in.
The consortium in numbers
Our Vision
Concurrent engineering is normal practice in industry and rare in the curriculum, where students are still largely assessed alone. SHINE exists to close that gap: to make cross-institutional, cross-disciplinary teamwork a routine part of an engineering degree rather than an extracurricular exception.
Our Mission
The iHUB joins a public site to a Moodle learning platform behind a single sign-on, so a student enrols once and works across courses contributed by partners in different countries. The U-TEAM methodology developed in the project is what the courses teach; the hub is what makes it possible to teach them together.
- Shared courses built by partner universities
- Single sign-on between the site and Moodle
- Cross-institutional student teams
- Teaching scenarios from the U-TEAM collection
- Open to every consortium institution
- Co-funded by the European Union
